We’re Going Virtual

As always, Ignite Charlotte events feature a series of talks by speakers who are personally or professionally passionate about an idea and have the guts to get on stage to share it with their fellow community members. Here’s the kicker, they only get 5 minutes and they have to use 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds, which means the pressure is on for them to enlighten us, but make it quick!

Ignite Charlotte 10 will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 and you’re invited to attend using your mobile device, laptop or desktop computer.

If you’re interested in giving a 5 minute talk, be sure to read our Call For Talk Ideas post. When it’s available, follow the application instructions provided on our online submission form.

Interested in speaking at Ignite Charlotte? If you’re located here in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, let’s say within a 30 minute drive to center city, we’d like to hear from you when our Call For Talk Ideas opens up; at least two months prior to the scheduled event.

Here’s a few things you should know about our efforts to select community members who are personally or professionally passionate about an idea they are willing to share with the local community.

Your Talk Idea

When you apply to speak at an Ignite Charlotte event it’s best to keep your application responses short and to the point. Consider telling us what you’re passionate about in 140 characters or less like a Tweet. If you’re looking for an opportunity to tell us about your product, service, podcast, book, or a webinar you offer, Ignite Charlotte isn’t really the best place for this.

Your Talk Title

We’re suckers for geek inspired Talk Titles so be creative while giving us a glimpse into what we can expect from your IgniteTalk.

Your Talk Experience

We’ve had first-time speakers, Toastmaster grads, and professional speakers deliver 5 Minute Talks so we’re ready to help you every step of the way. The most important thing we’re looking for is how much knowledge and passion do you have for the Talk Idea you’re sending in for consideration.

Your Flex Ability

Ignite Charlotte is run by volunteers and we respect all the hard work each person on our team puts in to make this event possible. That being said, we look to select speakers who agree to our set schedule, can adjust when situations require it when given adequate notice, and community members who don’t mind sharing their involvement with their networks. We’re all here to help each other.
